How many clients does Candledark have?
Unlike other companies, we don't make a habit of disclosing this information.
We see no reason to put-on airs to try and make people think we're special.
Additionally, our clients stats change pretty regularly, so keeping an accurate
count on the web would be more trouble than it's worth. Let's just say we host
a considerable number of webs.
Does Candledark host any webs for free (other than staff owned)?
Yes, but we don't make a practice of it. Candledark is not a free server,
and we do not ever wish to be. Free servers, such as Yahoo! Geocities use
forced advertising and client information to make their profit. We feel that
such practices demean the spirit of the web, and in some cases, such as
selling client information without client consent, is ethically wrong.
Does Candledark sell email lists to third party companies like Geocites
and others?
NO! All client information, and we mean all,
does not leave our offices. All client information is kept completely
confidential.
Why doesn't Candledark have a toll free 800 tech support number?
To have such a thing raises our overhead. An increase in our overhead, as
is standard in economics, is passed on to the customer (in other words, raised
rates). We do not feel this is necessary, as few people even need to call our
tech support. We have an exceptional tech record, and therefore have little
need for tech support calls.
Other companies are welcome to 800 numbers. They may need them. We, on
the other hand, take care of our equipment, and therefore have little need for
tech support (by phone or email).
Are you an equal opportunity employer?
Absolutely! Candledark was founded as a partnership, 1/2 of which was female
(doesn't get more equal than that).
Do you support more than Windows based PCs?
Absolutely. We can aid our clients using Apple and Unix-based operating systems/computers.
In fact, our tech crew generally has to turn to management to handle PC
related issues.
